QED

QED takes place on my iPhone and is the story of a circle and an endless hill. It is only tiny bit of story but it’s an old one, going all the way back to ancient Greek times.

Drawing formal connections between different circles and lines, with their varied trajectories--corporate-designed button vs. hand-drawn character, hand-drawn lines vs. accidental crack in the screen, camera vs. dust speck--the video shows one scene again and again with only slight variation. Yet there is something oddly compelling about the repetition. Perhaps the addictive quality of contemporary digital culture, in Angry Birds or Candy Crush, is not the differences over time, but the comfort of repetition.
